The minds behind Tex-Lock are bike fans with body & soul, and product developers with passion & devotion. Equipped with textile know-how and dissatisfied with existing bicycle lock solutions, founders Alexandra Baum and Suse Brand developed the idea for Tex—Lock. Since the two women from Leipzig, Germany, travel a lot by bicycle, they experienced the frustration of having to ride around with a clattering, unwieldy metal bicycle lock. The bright idea was to make a bicycle lock out of textile. Tex-Lock is based and manufactured in Leipzig, Germany with the highest of German standards and expertise.
All products of the eyelet series are certified according to ART*2 anti-theft criteria.
Love this lock. Kuat NV2 hitch on rear of Fifth Wheel rv. Use two of these locks for security plus integrated rack lock. Easy to thread the flexible part where it needs to go. Lock part is easy to use. Highly recommend these bike locks. 5 */5* from me.
I am not a security expert and I know every lock can be overcome, but this system seems to be the best thought out that I could find. It is very flexible and easy to handle and can be used in a variety of ways. Best of all, maybe, is that it easily wraps around the horizontal bar of my bike, and stays out of the way.
I bought the Tex-Lock bike locking system because it was so flexible and easy to use. I have a friend in Germany who has used it with good success. The cable is very flexible and, because of its soft cover, it won’t scratch my brand new carbon mountain bike. Hopefully, it will deter most bike thieves from trying to remove my MTB from my bike rack while I’m shopping or running relatively short errands. How successful it will be against a thief with effective cutting tools remains to be seen. If I were to leave my bike on the back of my car or somewhere else for several hours, I’d be sure to use additional and more heavy duty locking protection. The X-Lock padlock appears to be well made. Overall I’m pleased with my purchase. It does what I bought it for.
